This is a simple script what shows you the dimension from the corrent selected objects, or the lengh of a shape.

You need to use it as a button, with them you can activate the script or deactivate it.

Have a good time!

Fixed

Ok I have fixed the script and now it works so: for single selected objects it measure the local bounding box and for multiple selection it measure the global bounding box from all objects in the selection.

Watch this video.

It is for my Visual Pivot Placer script, but you can see what is the diference between the World Boundingbox and the Local Boundingbox of an object.

The selection brackets shows the object's local bounding box.

When the obejct is rotated the brackets rotates with it, but the world bounding box did not rotates.

The Measure Tool shows the objet's local bbox dimension. Rotate an object and you will see the difference between the Measure Tool and your script - the size in the Measure tool stays inchanged while the size in your script changes while the object is rotated.

difference?

Hello miauu,
sorry for my question: can you explain me what makes here the different? The measurement shows the same what the measure tool from 3ds max does.

This measure the world bounding box of the selected object.
It will be good if the script can measure the local bounding box.
