Replace Objects/Groups

Replace desired objects or groups with clones(copies, instances, references) of another object or group.

How to use it:
- select the objects/groups that you want to be replaced
- press the GET THE OLD OBJECTS/GROUPS button
- select the object or group that will be cloned to replace the OLD objects/groups
- press the GET NEW OBJCET/GROUp button
- choose the type of the cloned objects - copies, instances, references
- choose to match or not the position and/or rotation. The cloned objects will match the position of the old objects using its the pivot point

This script will set the pivot point of all selected objects to be at the centre of their bases.

I wanted to create a script to visualize the `Rule of Thirds` inside the 3ds Max Viewport, to aid in the composition of my camera shots. Inspired by this script I also added some other overlay options. The lines inside the viewport are drawn as a kind of render effect, so no geometry is created and no camera is needed. They will interactively adjust to any image aspect and are visible in the active viewport, so switching the viewport will also move the lines there.

Copy/Paste Skin Modifier via Max Script

I recently discovered that copying a skin modifier via maxscript (using addmodifier) doesn't set the weights correctly, so I wrote a function to transfer the weights from one mesh to another. (they need to have the same topology though)
Some other scripts out there won't work because at some point autodesk decided to change the way that the skin's bone table is indexed, and they would need a lookup table with the bone names to convert the old index to the new one. *sight It seems I fixed it.

Plane Lens Distortion

Plane Lens Distortion (PL Distortion) it is the primitive plane with applied UV mapping coordinates which allows you to correct lens distortions on Bitmap of assigned Material.

Mesh Surface

Creates surface defined by four splines. The order of picking the splines matters - they should form a closed loop. If you get a weird looking mesh, try once again starting with another of the four splines:

Note that if any of the splines are animated, the resulting mesh is animated, too.
