Inset by Smoothing Group

As the mcg installation process was pretty convoluted, I decided to redo the InsetBySmoothingGroup modifier in maxscript - the speed is the same and you don't have to care about different versions of max behaving different, connecting disconnected nodes and all that stuff. Now it's just one .ms file, and there's no vertex weld needed either.

CAD cleaner

--WHAT THE SCRIPT DO --
When you import CAD file into 3d studio max it usually contains some "extra" data and the so called body objects. Also it contains some hierarchy and you cannot group objects.
The Script converts all this "extra" data to native 3ds studio max objects (typicaly lowering the polygon count almost twice:), but retains the instancing from the original CAD file.

This lets you group and manage your scene as typical max scene and stil use the istanced objects to quickly apply changes.

Helper Manager

A useful tool containing many methods for adding point or dummy helpers to the scene, as well as duplicating existing hierarchies using helpers, or replacing them with a Bones System.

Viewport Maxscript Editor

I'm happy to release a new script that allows you to create scripts using objects in max's viewport. It was written with the idea that it could replace the long outdated and basically useless "Visual Maxscript Editor" - it's even named the same acronym.

VME also 'imports' a PSD and converts it to a .MS file, if the PSDs layers are named correctly.

Copitor allow you to quick copy/paste selected objects to another Max scene or in another Max if you have 2 3dsMax open. I also like to use it like as a "quick backup" for try something, and to be sure to loose nothing :)

Installation: Drop The file in max viewport and go to Customize ==> Customize User Interface ==> Category: zOffTy Tools ==> Copitor

Import and update models coming from Archicad, Revit, Sketchup and Rhino3d while keeping applied materials, modifiers, properties and transformations.
The meshes are linked through their material's names to the original.

 Summary:
Prevents excessive popup dialogs ( object xref system units mismatch, missing plugins ) during scene load. Especially usefull for 3ds Max 2016+, as xref'd scenes with different system unit settings now open a popup dialog for each file.
