The UV copy tool was designed to have a better workflow within a team of artists.
The animator can setup his model, even before the textures and uv coordinates have been applied.
These can be copied onto the animated model afterwards with the UV copy tool.

Use the UV copy tool to copy textures, uv channels and vertex colors from one object to another.

Requirements:

3D studio Max 3.1.
The objects must have the same number of vertices, and must both be editable mesh as base object.
You need Larry minton's Avguard Extensions - Version 2.05+ to be able to use this script.
This is a free plugin that can be downloaded from the Max Forum.
It is also included in this package.

Installation:

Copy the Avguard Extensions - Version 2.05 dll into you plugins dir.
Copy the UV copy script into your scripts dir.
Run the script once in max, and add it to your toolbar.

Tutorial:

There is a sample file within this package that quickly demonstrates how this script works.
The file shows a 3d model reproduced from the discreet website.

Simply run the script, pick both the source and destination objects and press copy.
