Q: Can anyone tell me how I can play a 30Mb animation(flc) on a PC with 8Mb RAM? > What kind of software does allow this without interrupting? > I've tried aniplayer but that program writes everything into RAM >

A: The normal AAPLAYHI (or ANIPLAY) flic player from Autodesk DOES NOT load automatically the flics into memory. I remember there was a player by Trilobyte that did this everytime. If you have a fast PCI graphics board and a fast hard drive, you might get the flic playing in realtime - I hope it is 640x480 ;o)
What I do is using Norton SPEEDISK before playing. I always put the whole flic as the first file on the disk. If the flic is not fragmented, the access time of the HDD is about 1-2 ms (track-to-track), and even when accessing the FAT, the head has a very short way to go.

You should also DISABLE any disk cache programs like Smartdrv, they might give you the feeling the flic is being loaded into memory...
