I am starting to get into 3D Studio and I am buying a new computer.
How dependent on FPU are these drawing programs? I need to know so I
can buy the right CPU. Can anyone help me?

VERY dependent. Buy a real Pentium!
3DS and AutoCAD won't run without a FPU, and run much faster with
original Pentiums compared to Cyrix 6x86...
