Q: ...To keep this as simple as possible: I create a box. I moved to frame 30. Now I wish to rotate the box 360 degrees around the X-, Y- and Z-axes (sp?). The result would simply have the box do a nice little spin.

When I do this, however, only the rotation on the last axis chosen is accepted. I have gone into the Key Info box (in 3DS4 or MAX equiv) but cannot manually set the rotation values to -1, -1, and -1 as they reset themselves to other values.

Obviously there is a reason for this...or I must be doing something wrong. Could someone point out the obvious for me.

A: This means you want to rotate the box around the one DIAGONAL axis at one time (360 degrees around X,Y,and Z from 0 to 30!). Like this:

This logo rotates as you described, I just put the camera at 45 degrees to have a nice view...

Well, the values 3DS assigns automatically in KeyInfo WILL WORK. Just rotate around X on frame 30, go to KeyInfo and write 3 identical values for X,Y and Z (for example -0.5,-0.5,-0,5 / 360) They will be automatically adjusted to something like -0.57735. This means they take the respective part of the 360 to create the rotation.

You can't do this the interactive way, only with KeyInfo.

Addition:

It is of course more easier to use a hierarchy of dummies for more control over the rotation...
