Q:
I'm wanting to create an text spline with, let's say, the word "MAX Text"
and tessellate it into multiple faces. (This I have done already). What I
would then like to do is to aply some sort of spacewarp on the text
(perhaps gravity or wind), but the manuals and online documentation says
they only apply particle obejcts... Is there a way around this (cheat the
system) or some trick, or do I need some thirdparty plug-in? If so, what
should I be looking at?
A:
There is a table in the manuals that shows which SpaceWarps can be used
with geometry, with particle systems, or with both.
I think the BOMB can be used to satisfy your needs. If you place it (or
more than one?!) far enough and set it up right, you might get a nice
effect of both wind (particles flying sidewards) and gravity (I think
the Bomb has it's own gravity settings)
Addition:
The upcoming plug-in HyperMatter might let you use gravity on meshes. (?)
