I am about to purchase 3DS MAX from someone who says that it doesn't
need a dongle/hardware key. Is this true or a scam?
A:
The dongle of 3DS MAX comes from RAINBOW Technologies (again). It is
called SentinelSuperPro (I wonder what will be the next model:
SentinelSuperMegaPro?). This is the same model that ships with AutoCAD
13, but they are not interchangeable. You can't use your old 3DS DOS
SentinelPro, too. The manuals say that the dongle for MAX should be the
first one connected to the printer port.
If you PURCHASE the program, there will be one for sure!
Addition:
If somebody wants to sell you a copy of Max without a dongle, he must be a criminal...
