Skin Slide by Seigi Sato

Dual Quaternion finally landed on 3dsmax!

27 votes

3dsmax has linear vertex blending for skinning by default, this causes a lot of artifact during bones rotation, especially
the classic candywrap effect. Dual Quaternion skinning mantains volume a lot better, BUT it cannot be used alone as general solution. In some situations you still would like to mantain linear skinning AND with XrayBlendSkin YOU CAN!
You can even paint the amount of Dual Quaternions influence.
Features:
- Dual quaternion skinning to avoid candy wrap artifacts
- Interactive bind between linear and dual quaternions.
- Paint blending

David Holmedal has written a node based render manager for 3dsmax and is making it available immediately to anyone who is interested ...for free. More information is available on his website http://www.davidholmedal.com/renderflow.php

Description:
RenderFlow is a nodebased render manager. It allows you to setup your
render passes much like you would set up a composite in programs such as

saving only visible object

32 votes

Hello
I'm thinking about a script to save only objects displayed in the camera field (like "save selection" but for the camera viewport)
the goal is to make my huge architecturals scene easier to render, because sometimes i just want to render a part of the project (my camera field) and not the total scene,i think this could make my render faster
I'm working on it, so if you have suggestion or if a similar script already exists, please tell me !
(Sorry for my poor english, i'm french! )

MCG support added!

6 votes

Calling all MCG developers! ScriptSpot now features an MCG section where you can share & find procedural MCG tools. This is an incredibly exciting feature of 3ds Max 2016 and I'm excited to see all the tools you're able to create!

The new section is a clean slate so there isn't any content until you add it! Since MCG files are inherently visual I'd like to see more images / video examples of what people can expect when using them.

Announcing the ScriptSpot "RE-launch"

9 votes
The day is finally here! I am proud to announce an entirely new ScriptSpot is here! Completely rebuilt from the ground up, the new site has been built specifically to address the needs of the community for years to come.

Check out these new features:

  • User based content submission (scripts, extensions, tutorials, news). No more waiting for your script, plugin, tutorial to go live. All of you have the ability to get your content live, any time, 24/7/365.
  • User blogging that pulls together your blog with all your submitted content. Example - my blog allows me to blog any new announcements or news about myself / my submissions while making it easy for users to see what content I've submitted and what content has been marked as my "favorite". The idea was to create a way for users to have their own blog and storage for their relevent content and present it to people in a very readable way.
  • Additional application support - initial site rollout adds SketchUp, future additions of XSI, Maya, Lightwave, Rhino, Cinema4D, etc based on demand.
  • Favorites allow users to mark any content as their "favorite" then allowing the community to see what scripts particular people find to be useful. Favorites are implemented on the individual user blog page.
  • Email subscription allows users to subscribe to virtually all content, be it a script, plugin, blog and be notified via email when it is updated or commented on.
  • Full comment system and content ranking. Like a script or plugin? Give it a thumbs up by clicking the "plus" sign on the voting widget. Want to leave some constructive feedback, use the comment system to contribute your thoughts!
  • Forum - really, its about time!
