v.2: I got rid of a nasty hack (using temporary editable meshes) and it runs a bit faster and uses less memory.

v.3: Now it has mapping coordinates. Kind of cylindrical, but slightly better ;)

v.4: Fixed a bug that killed the mesh after cloning.
