PolyUnwrapper v2.5.1 - Update

What's New

- Fixed MacroScripts not working in Max 2012-2014
- Fixed PolyUnwrapper Settings not saving properly

Unfortunately there is no fix yet for the slow down when Gamma/LUT is enabled or using 4k or larger textures in viewport.

Thank you all!

"Did you look under the

"Did you look under the PolyUnwrapper category?"

Weird, I don't see that either, I always thought it was controlled via the Maxscrit/Utilities dropdown in the Utilities Tab.

Just checked.....if you move ...

C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\2014 - 64bit\ENU\scripts\PolyUnwrapper\scripts\polyunwrapper.mcr

C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\2014 - 64bit\ENU\usermacros

then you should see the PolyUnwrapper Category, I didn't even realize they were their either.

cool :)

hope this helps.

Thank you guys for the feedback!!

Thankfully I was able to reproduce the bug you mention. As far as I could see, it only happens when switching between modes and if you have Gamma/LUT enabled. I could not see any general slowdown in other areas, but I will try to fix it soon.

Regarding the MacroScripts, I can’t reproduce what you are experiencing. The new MacroScripts are located in the same file as the MacroScripts that open the PolyUnwrapper toolbar “polyunwrapper.mcr”, so I would think if the toolbar is working, the MacroScripts should be visible. Did you look under the PolyUnwrapper category?

The other issue is something I have to do a quick fix. Actually, the “Save All Settings” should not close the Settings Dialog, but display a message instead, something like “Settings Have Been Saved”. The way they are working now is annoying and confusing.

Hope I can release a quick fix soon.

Hey Thanks for the update.I

Thanks for the update.I have two annoyances:

1. The macroscripts do not appear. Neither the category. I've updated, uninstalled, re-installed, to no avail.

2. The "Save All Settings" button does not save the desired settings. Just closes the "Settings" window.
If i hit "Close" directly, the settings are saved.

Hello, I have tested. I

Hello, I have tested. I uncheck the“Use Fixed Wire Color”, I also reinstalled the script.
I use some big textures (up to 4k and psd files) in my scene (about 125000 polys), v2.5 works slower than v2.4 when I switch sub-object mode. And sometimes there was a window show in the Windows task bar, then it disappeared quickly.
The editor window shows faster than yesterday, but switching sub-object mode is still slow.
I think you can use some 4k textures to test. And v2.5 works fine in no texture scene.
There is no problem with v2.4. And your script helps me a lot, thank you.

2010, 2013 & 2014 64, no issues at all.
Thanks for the update, I'd forgotten how bad the default unwrap UI was, I've been testing 2014 and the unwrap is an alien landscape without this script :)
I don't know what the gonks at AD are looking at, but hey-ho, god bless scriptspot and the talent it contains.

v2.5 becomes slow in 3ds max 2013

Hello wdw89,

There is no reason why version 2.5 should slow down the Editor as the code has not been changed too much.

Please try:
1. Uncheck the “Use Fixed Wire Color” in PolyUnwrapper Settings.
2. If the above fails, unload PolyUnwrapper and see if the Unwrap Editor is still slow.
3. If the above fails, uninstall PolyUnwrapper, restart Max and see how the Unwrap Editor is working.

Was the issue resolved?

Thank you!

Hi, after updating the script, the UV editor window shows slower than before. And sometimes switching sub-object mode become slower, too.
