Version:
2.5 & 1.6
Date Updated:

This is a script I wrote while learning Maxscript.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Create a high poly Rock and adjust to suit your needs

Click Make Low Poly and you'll get a low poly rock based on the high

poly rock that is unwrapped ready for Render to Texture.

You can save your shapes to presets and adjust the pivot with one click.

The original and the best: :)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is based on a tutorial by Sascha Henrichs

Additional Info:

------------------------- NEW! ------------------------------------------------------------

Just updated Rockme and renamed it to Rock My World v1.6

Spinners update the settings in real time, so you can make

adjustments while you watch in the viewport.

Rock My World is a script that does the same thing as the

RockMaker but it will work on just about any mesh you want and

is not limited to just making Rocks

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

RockMaker v2.5 uploaded Spinners update the settings in real time.

Has the ability to save presets via ini file thanks to Miauu

Thanks for the video tips, I

Thanks for the video tips,

I didn't get it to work yet, but I will debug it further.

I'm running x64 Max 2011 on Windows 7 (also x64), but I doubt that's the problem here.

Very nice to see a script

Very nice to see a script made for this!

I watched the tutorial at AREA some weeks ago, but I was too lazy to try it myself, even though the rocks looked awesome!

I have one tiny problem with the script. It says this on line 105:

-- Unknown property: "diffuseMap" in undefined

I did copy the material library to the location instructed, but is there something else I need to do to get this to work?

Thanks again!

Thank you tiagodmed, I was

Thank you tiagodmed,
I was looking at http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/tutorials/creating-maxscript-installers and had used it on an old script of mine.

The 2 reasons I didn't use it for the Rock Maker was because,
1. I was unsure how Vista and 7 dealt with Max's file structure as I'm still using XP.

2. Max has a tendency to Automatically want to place scripts into the Documents and settings, [user] ,local settings, Application data, Autodesk, 3dsmax, 2010 - "32", enu, ui, and usericons usermacros.

At the time, my uncertainty about this annoying little feature made me unsure if I should include this path as well, and then that lead me back to question 1. which put my brain in a loop :).

So I said doh! and uploaded it anyway without an installer (after all, max people are all good looking Genesis) until I had researched further.

ps It was your script that lead me to create some icons as well (even tho mine suck) so thank you for the inspiration. My other script is a modelling planes (image planes) script as well and I wasn't aware that there were so many of them out there.
I stupidly thought it was a new and original idea haha until it dawned on me to search.
