how to extract single spline from road?

hello everybody,
I imported the road from PixelActive cityscape, and I need to extract center spline from road. I use the "select open edges-> create shape from edges", and it becomes a multiline. how to extract a single spline from the center of the road?

Attach the road.
If the spline is always detatched as multiline then it can be recreated, using maxscript, as one line.
