Send a render via script but still save through VRay's output

Hey, I've tried the following few commands:
Max quick render
Max render last
render()
render camera:$PhysCamera001 vfb:false

and none of them seem to output any files to the VRay renderers.current.output_splitfilename directory.

Am I missing something here or am I forced to use the standard max output file?
