Create 2d shape orthogonal view from 3d object

Hi!

Is it possible to automate a workflow thanks to which I can create 2d shapes from a 3d object corresponding to Top / Front / Side ortho view of it?

Usually what I do manually is to select (in a ortho view) the outsider edge loop of the geometry, convert to shape and flatten verteces.

But to do it for a lot of models could be tedious.

Daniele.

Some idea
See this script
http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/curves-to-3ds
It take an image in photoshop and turn in a shape in max
You can copy your object and put as you need like a blueprint. Top/Front/Side ( you'll have 3 objects). Use rendermask to render an image with all objects or render with pure white material and black background
Use this image in photoshop to make curves in max

If you don't want buy the script, free option is open imagen in photoshop, select white, make work path and export path to illustrator (format *.ai).
Then import *.ai in max an voila :D

I hope you understand, is a bit difficult to explain but is quite easy
