Object to follow target!

Hello forum!

I'm just trying to make an object stay within certain distance of a target object. No matter where the target moves in space the follower stays in its wake. And if the distance is less than the distance needed to move the follower would stay in place. I just cant wrap my head around it. [smooth movement]

Also how would you make the follower snap to the target position if a certain distance is reached and then stay and wait for the distance to grow again? [quick movement]
