Script Idea : Exclude Material From Render not Geometry When using Material Override.

Is is possible to exclude materials from renders when using override material exclude ?

eg:

Scene has 10 materials, plus one material override, I want to tell material override not to include material 7 (glass) when I render.
That would save me running around the scene detaching all the glass, adding and re-adding it to the selection sets and override exclude.

Basically a quick replacement for the selection set , override material method that currently only works with geometry.

Anyway on the subject of

Anyway on the subject of override, is there anyway to make Max refresh the exclude list when you add new objects to the selection sets ?
Override Exclude has a selection set feature, but when you add to it in the scene, you have to go back in and re-add it to the exclusion list.

lol, yes, it's unbelievable,

lol, yes, it's unbelievable, Max gets a few existing plugins stuck on to save you a few quid and Maya actually gets developed, yet they still package and hype Max like it's something special.
I'm actually thinking of switching to Maya, I just not a fan of the layout and UI, but it's being developed and seems to have a future, but the main problem is it's "future" is in the hands of AD.
Were they an honest company and actually told it's loyal users of it's intentions, instead of hiding behind legal disclaimer bullshit I could make a decision.
Anyway rant over , I got into 3D to be creative not to become a business student. :)

lol, yes I've seen that..I'd rather rent an apartment in Syria. :)
Max 2015 will be no different (if it ever arrives), bullshit hype, unfinished features, core functions unchanged, promises of things in the future that never arrive blah blah blah.
Development happens here, not at AD.

In max2014 except PF (integrations of #Box2 and #Box3) all new features I never tried.
30 september AD will realise new update for max and maya.
Maya users will have a good tools for playing, but max users ... ??? :( wtf
Take a look and compare by yourself

"have you wondered why

"have you wondered why developers not implemented "override by materials" yet."

Because they stopped developing Max years ago and decided to pad it out with unstable unfinished shit to make money until they kill it off ?

ahem....Well if you say it's difficult then it must be difficult....sigh never mind, maybe someone will see it as a challenge ;)

thanks for looking.
