Point System, Voting and Tricky Clicking Links?

By shannondees · 2007-02-28

Description

Hi Chris,

I'm loving the new site! It feels much more alive now that it is community based, that was a great path to choose.

I only have a few questions:

1. How does the point system work? Please excuse my lack of familiarity with that type of artifice, but I've looked around the site and just can't seem to find any insight.

2. You mentioned a voting system on the front page, but I can't seem to find any vote/thumbs up links on any of the scripts.

3. The title/scriptname links are difficult to click, it seems like I have to find just the right hotspot in the link to be able to click them. Could a css property set to "display:block" fix that?

Everything else seems pretty straight forward and easy to use, thanks for providing such an invaluable resource!

You just stumbled upon an IE only bug with points / links. The good news is that it prompted me to fix it (points, I'm still working on the links problem)! IE is particularly bad about reloading CSS so you'll probably need to do a CTRL+Refresh to force a full refresh. At this point it *should* work in all browsers but I only have Firefox and IE7 here, so if there are any other issues let me know...

Its relatively self explanatory when the voting widget shows up. A big ol plus button shows up under the actual point count. Click plus to give a thumbs up. It will only count your vote once.

Thanks for the positive feedback, I really appreciate it!
