Please help me improve my script!

Hello, I am looking for help expanding the abilities of a script I have written. The script is intended for easily creating organic branching shapes (i.e. tree branches, roots, nerves, and blood vessels) from splines already created by the user.

I've addressed some of the improvements I would like to make in the header, but any advice would be appreciated.
