Instance cloning no name change, apply same name .mat
Hi guys,
I am doing a stadium and putting chairs is taking longer than i wish, because every time i clone/instance a sector of chairs i need to rename them back to same name as original objects.
I am looking for a script that allows me to clone/instance selected objects, but without any autochange to their names. (ex. original object01 cloned/instanced into object01).
I´m also looking for a way to apply to selected objects, scene materials with the same name as the objects selected. (ex. selected object01 apply scene material object01.mat).

The miauu's Extend Clone tool allows you to select the cloned objects. Then you can use the Tools-Rename Objects to set the name of all selected objects to be "object01" or whatever name you want. And you can apply the desired material to selected objects, you can put them directly to a new layer.
In the next version I can add an option to keep the original name and all clones to receive this name.

Unfortunately, in my case i'm cloning an entire sector of stadium seats at once, and the seats are named differently, according to its number (ex: chair_01 to chair_37), so every time i clone a sector i have to use the rename by material 37 times plus the number of rows of the stadium. It would be great to have an option to turn auto naming off when cloning objects.
