"Hello" to the San Diego 3ds max usergroup
Just wanted to give a quick shout out to all the people at the San Diego 3ds max user group!
There was a meeting last night where the group leader Alan Iglesias showed 2 exterior renderings - one done with the traditional skydome style of rendering and one done using VRay. In particular the e-light script was mentioned as a good way to get fast GI like exterior renderings.
For those of you at the group who are already using VRay, I'd suggest that you give the ScriptSpot VRay section a quick browse as there are quite a few really nice, timesaving scripts! I'd suggest starting with Lele's VRay Tools or the VRay Light Lister
It was nice seeing so many familiar faces last night. I actually started going to the SDUG meetings when I was probably 14 but the last few years just haven't attended much - I'm hoping I can be more of a regular again... If anyone lives in the San Diego area (or not, I came down from Riverside) you should swing by the user group meetings some time. They're held at Kelar Corp in the Sorrento Valley (an Autodesk reseller) - for directions or info on meeting time visit http://members.cox.net/sd3dsmug/sdmaxug.html
