Weight Pro v2.0

5 votes

WeightPro is a 3ds Max plugin for automatic, fast and smooth Skin modifier weighting, no matter if the mesh has good or messy topology. It voxelizes the mesh with the skeleton using GPU to calculate the shortest distances between bones and vertices.
It allows you to make adjustments during posing in realtime.

Available for 3ds Max versions: 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016.

Scripted Geometry

The actual script is a developed version of the one that you can find in the maxscript help file, Practical Examples: "Create Scripted Geometry Plug-in"

this one has two additional features:

1-it has a height property for the inner part
2-it has a limit property that you can use to limit the radial creation between 0 and 180 degrees

note: after installing you can go to create panel, geometry, standard primitives

Orb Tool

0 votes

This plugin creates a new Spline primitive called "Orb". It can be used to quickly create orb controls for use in rigging, for example.

To use, either evaluate the script or place it in the startup folder to make it load on start.

#CAUTION# - 12/01/2015

I just noticed that when you create the Orb, the script creates a 0-size rectangle on the origin, which gives you dead vertices when it collapses the object. Will update ASAP.

Creates a cylindrical mesh, created around a series of X, Y and Z positions which are defined by 3 different functions. The functions can be easily changed using 7 variables (Segments, M, N, P, Q, H and T) which are all spinners.

Helixometry

Helixometry is a geometry plugin for 3ds Max that creates helix shaped meshes. All of its controls are animatable. The biggest benefit to this over the spline helix is the ability to taper the thickness of the mesh as well as twisting and turning. Check it out.
