Hi pixamoon, I use a lot your tool, but I wonder if you could populate a menu with your script so we can have a detachable menu and keep it open for easy access ?

re: detachable menu

pixamoon · 2021-04-28

Hi Titane357,

Do you mean to add it to top menu bar ? And be able to detach it in new max versions ?

Best,

titane357 · 2021-04-28

Yes, as an option ( no need to break something that works well ) Cheers

In fact, I just bound Favorite script to a hotkey.... It is perfect like this.

re: detachable menu

pixamoon · 2021-04-28

Thanks !

Yes, That is the fastest way. But will take a check if it's fast to add possibility to install it in top menu.

Do you use free version or full with 'Recent items history' ? This speeds up finding items too.

titane357 · 2024-01-23

Hi ! No news on this ? :-)

somone · 2020-06-10

how to run it?, im using 3ds max 2020 and all what it shows is settings and about.

re: how to run it

pixamoon · 2020-06-15

Hi,
Did you try to open Settings -> set a Path / location of your scripts and then Save settings ?

Best,
Pixamoon

Animatect · 2015-08-05

Thanks I didn´t realized, I'll check it as soon as I can!

I get an error trying to run it

Animatect · 2015-07-31

No ""findString"" function for undefined

re: error

pixamoon · 2015-07-31

oki oki, which version did you try ? Let me know, I'll try to fix it asap

Animatect · 2015-08-02

Thanks so much, I think it was 1.24, I actually tried both of which were availible on Turbo Squid, I tried it on 2015

re: error

pixamoon · 2015-08-03

Hi,

Did you try v1.32 ? You need to click " + show all" (below v1.21 and v1.24)

I think this error was fixed already in all versions after v1.26...

To make sure I've just added extra check for all undefined in findString  ->  v1.33 is the latest now.

Please try it and let me know if it works now.

Error

mindmedicine · 2015-06-22

Hi Pixamoon,

I upgraded from 1.21 to 1.23 but when running the script, I get the following Error:

-- Compile error: control already defined: _me111_36_1
-- In line: menuItem _me111_36_1 "

Hope this makes sense and thanks for the update.

Cheers,
Tim

re error

pixamoon · 2015-06-22

Thanks for info,
I've changed a lot in core of script to do subfolders. It may need more tests etc.

I'll fix it today :)

subfolders

pixamoon · 2015-06-22

Hi Tim,

It should be fixed now. Let me know how it works for you, Is it fast enough ?

I also wonder if I should add UserScripts folder or Scripts folder form main Max folder to search in there? Or other system folders ?

Best,
Pixamoon

Subfolders working now!

mindmedicine · 2015-06-22

Thanks!

Works fine now.
For me, it works fast enough, no lag here. And I have quite some folders and subfolders.
For me the extra folder searches are not an issue, since mine are in one place.
But maybe for studio's, it might come in handy to customize it more.

Would it be easy and efficient to do, to have the ability to add a small description as a tooltip to the items? Only if this doesn't slow it down.

Cheers,
Tim

subfolders

pixamoon · 2015-06-23

oki, cool, good it works now :)

Do you mean tooltips from macroscripts ? those are actually used as names for Installed UserScripts now. But not all .ms scripts have them inside so than script reads just macroscript name.
Also I'm not sure if there is a way to add tooltips to max menus, I'll take a look on dotNet menus. Thanks :)

Best,

Request: Subfolders

mindmedicine · 2015-06-12

Hey Pixamoon,

Thank you for this great script. Now I will finally get around to organizing my scripts! :)

Would it be possible to show/keep/use subfolders?

Cheers,
Tim

re: subfolders

pixamoon · 2015-06-12

thanks :)

yes, subfolders are coming in next updates :)

have to speed it up a bit too (automatic search), or is it fast enough ?

Cheers,
Pixamoon

Just tried this and a fantastic idea and execution. Simple yet so good.

EDIT: Would it be possible to sort scripts:

special characters | 0-9 | A-Z

Sorting seems to be by script type. Maybe this is intentional?

thanks again :)

pixamoon · 2015-04-25

there is sorting already, but maybe has a bug.
can you send me screenshot of not sorted correctly names:
