Hi, that's just simple script + .reg file to enable Tx previews in windows Cool

After running it:
- Tx files can be opened in any image viewer program
- enable Tx as window Thumbnails or Icons
If you still don't see Thumbnails in windows - please try to clean thumbnail cache:
- go to "C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer" and delete all .db and .etl files
or use one of those methods:
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/10797-thumbnail-cache-clear-reset.html

It just simply write those values to windows registry:

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.tx]
"PerceivedType"="Image"
"Content Type"="image/TX"
@="Parsifal.Program"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.tx\ShellEx]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.tx\ShellEx\{e357fccd-a995-4576-b01f-234630154e96}]
@="{C7657C4A-9F68-40fa-A4DF-96BC08EB3551}"

Requirement:
 - Has to be run by Admin user - only Administrator user can change registry.

Cheers,
Pixamoon

Fantastic - Works in Win11

This is fantastic. Thanks for writing it. It works great in Windows Pro 11. The Maxscript won't run in Max2023 but at least I can see them in Windows Explorer.

Also, it enables the functionality in Design Connecter.I originally opened Design Connecter to view about 100 .tx files. It would not preview them which was disappointing even after I added the extension in the preferences. But, once I intalled it in Windows and relaunched Design Conncter, it too could display them. Yea!

Great!

You beat me, I wanted to publish in the coming days the same solution Laughing. Anyway +1.

By the way, if some one didn't know .tx it is .tiff format. I looking solution open it in photoshop (сс) without changing filename extension.
