uvHelpV2 is a tool for 3dsmax designed to minimize distortion in UV maps. The program is written in max script by Carl van Heezik. The script is available for free to promote MicroCAN. Contact MicroCAN for the development of scripts and plugins.

Installation:
The installation of the script is simple and is the same for version 5 and 6 of 3dsmax. Quit 3dsmax if it is running. Copy the script uvHelpV2.mcr to the ../UI/Macroscripts folder of 3dsmax. (Examples: C:/3dsmax5/UI/Macroscripts - C:/3dsmax6/UI/Macroscripts). Start 3dsmax and choose Customize/Customize User Interface … from the menu and add the script to the quad menu tools2:
1. Select the Quads tab
2. Select uvHelp at the Category combobox
3. Select the quad menu tools2
4. Drag the Action minimize UV distortion to the quad menu
