Circle Packing

Hi

I'm very new to Max Script. I have a circle packing script to pack circles into another circle. At the moment they pack randomly. Does anyone know how to regulate this into an ordered pattern?

I'm also trying to decrease the size of the circles towards the edges of the packed circle.

Any pointers or existing scripts that may help would be gratefully received!
