3DS MAX Slate Material editor labels

Hi guys,

Looking in the Slate Editor I’d like to be able to put a coloured label above certain materials. I tend to arrange my materials in groups i.e. Woods, metals etc... but I’d like to be able to find them quicker. If there was an option to drag a coloured label, with some text in, above a group I’d instantly know where to scroll to and from. Somebody can help me?

Thanks,
Alex

SME groups / labels

I'm not sure if this is possible.

But you can group materials on different Views (I see you use only "View1" now)

You can rename "View1" to "General"
Then right click on it and add next view - "Glass" etc

Than you have all materials sorted + some of them can be on different shared in different views too... etc

This should be faster too than working on one view with all materials.

Hope it helps a bit,
