Change Materials in a scene and render remotely

One of my customers is looking for a solution to trigger a remote render of a scene after change of a texture map automatically. In detail, the process is two fold:

First Part in Photoshop:
1. The customer uploads a photo of say a wall paper into the server.
2. An action script in Photoshop updates the images onto a template previously saved

Second Part in 3DS Max:
1. A script to open 3DS MAX
2. Update the maps in the Material editor with the above updated template
3. Render as per a preset
4. Save final image with passes

Was wondering, how I can go about it.

Any suggestions are welcome.
