Paint vertex color by object intersection

Description

Basically looking for something like this wonderful script, but for vertex colors, so it works without creating bitmaps, and would (probably) work MUCH faster. Maybe MCG can do this?

Oh, and there's no need for the life, death, and grow time stuff. I just want to paint verts, perhaps with a bit of falloff.
