press escape (esc) key to exit "move","rotate" or "scale" mode

Hi all,

I always wanted to be able to go from either move, rotate or scale mode to just "select" mode by pressing the escape key.

Why?
So I don't move objects by accident when I just want to select.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Thanks

the Q key doesn't make it for me. especially considering that in most software the esc key quits processes and that it's isolated on the corner of the keyboard.

Actually, it would be great to be able to exit sub-object levels with the esc key as well.

I know it sounds ridiculous to spend time looking for this, but it's a big part of the daily use.

The kbdx file is full of numbers. no keys seemingly.

thanks

Thanks, but that's what I've been doing so far.
The esc key is more intuitive.
Do you know if there's a way to change from Q to esc?

thanks.

You need to edidt keyboard configuration *.kbd file, but not sure if that is works.
My suggestion is is not to use "Esc" for smart select because escape operation is already used for many "Quiting" process.
"Q" is the most logical choise for sure.
