Script for working on set of objects

By titane357 · 2011-01-22

Description

Hello
I would like to do the following :
I want to work on a set of five objects (for eg). I create a selection set
I run the script, choose my selection set.
Just my selection set is visible.
I clic "next" I see just one object, "next" again the following one,...
When I want to see all my selection set, clic "ALL"
When finish to work on these objects just close the script (clic on "finish"
button)
Then all objects are visible/hidden back as before I run the script.

It would be very cool... when working on lot of objects. :-)

I wanted to create an animation of visibility as one box appearing one by one according to time on a selection set

Wow !!! thank you Anubis, that's great ! and clean UI :-)
There is just a problem : this script should be used to isolate a selection to work on it and on its component separatly.
So when running the script, just the selected selection set should be visible, not the objects outside of the selection set : if I have 4 objects in the ss, when I run the script I should see just 4 objects maximum.
If is not to complicated....
I add a "x" button, so if you clic it all objects of the scene will be visible/hidden (as they were before run the script), so you can let the script window open and so reuse it without running the script.
It would be chrismas in january.... Cheers.

Yep, now it works per sel-set and I guess that you'll prefer to hidde all objects but was not sure. Ok, don't worry, its not the big deal, I'll edit it to work like this tonight then am back at home.

[Edit] Ok, here you go edited version, cheers!

That's really cool !!! Thanks Anubis ! :-)
Hope somebody find this script usefull too (I do)
just a "bug" : I had in the selection set dropdown list a "temporary selection set", but I can't reproduce this.... I'll tell you if I get it again...

Thanks again and if it is not too late : happy new year ! :-)

oddly things happens

I see no sense this set to come from the script itself. The script not create new sets, and as the name of this set say "tempopary", its looks like you have some other script or plugs that do this.

Happy new year to you! :-)
