zooming in camera view

Could it be possible to make a "script" to zoom in camera view to help modeling with background photo ?

Try to switch to OpenGL, instead of DirectX... You then can adjust some settings in the viewport-configuration called "Virtual Viewport"... you can only use the num-pad-keys(+/-, 1-9) to zoom in and out, as well as pan the zoomed view.
Helps a lot of times when working with setextension or replacements to be more accurate when placing objects.
