Maxscript file structure renaming

Hello I am looking for a simple maxscript that will clean up my imported fbx files. This is straight forward just out of my realm of knowledge.

I need a file that will do the following in order

1. Delete all empty Dummy helper layers
2. Loop thru all Dummy objects and

  • A. Merge children objects of Dummy into one layer
  • B. Rename the newly merged layer to the Parent name +'_Mat"
  • C. Unparent the newly created layer

    5. Delete all empty Dummy layers
    6 Create a new Dummy helper layer
    7. Parent all geometry layers into the new Dummy layer

    Hi everyone, and thanks for your time.

    I'm interested in a script that would automate the creation of an attribute holder or a set of slider manipulators for the purpose of controlling multiple morph modifiers. For instance, I've got to set up a mixamo-generated rig that has a body object, eyelashes object, teeth and tongue objects with basically the same set of morphs; but they all have to be animated separately. It would nice to set up a control that blinks the eyelashes at the same time the eyelids blink.

    Spline friendly Clone MCG\Modifier

    Hello,
    I'm looking for a simple Clone MCG\Modifier that does not turns splines to meshes when applied. All suitable existing ones turn them to polys. Another nuance the the spline should remain the same (the same vertices number\type). Have you seen something in this direction?

    3ds Max Custom UI - A quad in a quad does not work properly in 3ds Max

    It seems 3ds Max (2020, 2019 and perhaps the lower versions) doesn't like a quad (or quads) in a quad. Does anyone know why is that so? A quad in a quad works perfectly while you are customizing it and after you close the Customize UI dialog but when you close Max and then open it - a new quad with the same label (but not working, just a label) appears next to the one you put previously and Max keeps adding such idle quad labels with the same name with the starting of each new session.

    Adjustable Clipping Plain

    For many years I have been frustrated with the MAX camera clipping plain. Locked perpendicular to the line between the camera and it's target if usually fails to give me what I need in terms of "show me the inside". I need a clipping plane (two would be better) tha I can adjust to cut through a "box" exterior and expose the insides, then let me move the camera and target independantly to get the best viewing angle to expose the contents, straight on views either don't reveal, or slash through the things I want to show, the clipping plane obscures as often as it reveals as it should.

    help needed : symmetry - shell - turbosmooth in one hotkey

    i am currently studying 3d character modeling
    i would really appreciate it if someone make a script that allows me to symmetry shell and turbosmooth (in respective order) at once.

    it will also help me if symmetry threshold is set to 0.001cm
    shell inner amount 0.6cm and turbosmooth iteration to 3.

    if the script is provided it would help me a lot to learn to make my own script. i know that it wouldn't be hard to script but i am a complete newbie when it comes to scripting
    so please be generous and help me out!.

    Viewcube Front/left/etc.

    Hey,

    I would like to be able to assign a keyboard shortcut to at least the Front, Left and Top views from Viewcube, which don't seem to be the same as the default F, L and T.

    If I use "Set Current View as Front" on any angle in the viewport, then click on the ViewCube's "Front", it works as expected. Pressing the F key doesn't.
    So I'd like to assign a maxscript command to the Front in the ViewCube.

    Simple Request: Set spline interpolation to a given amount for all selected splines?

    Hi,

    I've been bringing hundreds .AI files in to work with them. The default "interpolation" level is always 6, and I want to set all select spline interpolation levels to a lower number.

    When googling for this, I came across this for something called a "Spline shape." I have never converted anything to a "spline shape" before, only an "editable spline" in my workflow.
