This tool will remove any SELECTED vertices that are shared by ONLY and EXACTLY 2 edges. Useful to make mip models for games - when you need to simplify the mesh by hand.

nothing removed

I have the same issue as Fouinard. I have used vertex killer sucessfuly in previous version so thank you very much indeed but not sure wats going on. I selected 806 verts. It says it has removed 805 (which is too many) and when I look back at the mesh it hasn't removes any. Is there a solution???

I'm using max design 2010

I had Fouinard's issue as well; I believe it's being caused by 2-edged verts that can't be removed (like that are connected to Tri's, where detail will be lost). I got around it by selecting small sections of verts, and those would later be fixed. Using it in conjunction with Ring/Loop helped point out areas that needed to be reporcessed; where the loop stops, there's vertices that need killing.

Otherwise, great script. Thanks a ton!

seems to work but

Fouinard · 2011-02-22

Hello,

When I select vertices and run the script it tells me xxx vertices has been removed but when I select all vertices again, 3ds shows me the same number as before ??? So no vertices has been deleted at all ?

Did I do something wrong or miss a step ?

Thanks !!
Kind regards

btw : I use 3ds design 2011 x64

hi,
thank you for the script...it kill to up 3000 vertices on any of imported converted meshes.

I have only a question... why the size of the file is growing?

the file grow from 24MB to about 100MB
I suppose that less vertex also mean less geometry stored data.
thank you

check notetracks

polygonner · 2013-10-14

if the size jumped then its a tracknotes problem.
try to clean them

tiagodmed · 2010-09-15

Very good!
When I use the multires, the mesh is triangulated, then I apply a quadrify tool of the graffiti, but it is very vertex lost. Your script removed all.

Just missed a status bar to see the progress.

Thanks!

really usefull scripts for cleaningup models...
specially after booleans...

thanx

A+ :)

I just cleared about 800 useless vertices on a shape created using boolean. I'm using Max8 by the way. Great script, thank u!!!
