Any way to get this to work

Any way to get this to work with inches as the unit of measure? I've tried using it with a teapot, 6" (15.24 cm) diameter, and tried scaling it up to 3' (91.44cm), but it makes the teapot smaller no matter which axis I choose instead of scaling it up.
