3ds Max Script to Export List of Group Names to Excel File

Hi All,

I've only really got very limited knowledge of Scripting so I'm currently really struggling with this.
Basically we need a script that will export a list of items in a scene, specifically the Grouped items, to an Excel sheet.
I've managed to find the Script, but the problem is if we have 4 chairs in the scene it changes the end digit incrementally and we need the names the same as the Group name.
Is there a way to add in something that will count up the same named Groups and put this number in a separate column in Excel?

3ds Max Script: Reparent Groups to Objects

Hello

I am a user of 3ds max 2016 64bit (Win 7)

I do import Inventor files (aim, ipt) into 3ds max.

My problem is that 3ds max imports inventor´s assembly as a group.

For example I have a scene in 3ds max which looks like: one group (called Assembly) that contains three objects (meshes)

e.g.

Assembly
- Object01
- Object02
- Assembly_Pivot

So, I would be very grateful if someone could help me make a script that would do the following:

3DS MAX Slate Material editor labels

Hi guys,

Looking in the Slate Editor I’d like to be able to put a coloured label above certain materials. I tend to arrange my materials in groups i.e. Woods, metals etc... but I’d like to be able to find them quicker. If there was an option to drag a coloured label, with some text in, above a group I’d instantly know where to scroll to and from. Somebody can help me?

3ds max startup material

hey there

is there any way that will enable u to have default material allready applied to any geometry created ?

cuz i wanna have black wireframe, and grey material polygon when im modeling.

3ds max Transfer Attributes - retopology

in maya you can retopology a mesh with transfer attributes. this technique is very useful with triangulated meshes (from marvelous designer) because you can use the model's UV's as a guide where to place. you retopologize the mesh op top of the flattened model. and than you project it on the high res triangulated mesh.

3dsMas - Assign multiple textures/shaders to mesh (Tables)

Hi,

i'm a new user here but I know this site for long time and already used somes of the scripts.

I got a demand. A big at my point of view.

I got a project that's pretty simple. Theres is 30 3D models of tables (a surface and the legs). The surface will be in 20 differents textures (bitmap) of wood and the legs in 4 type of metals (shaders).

So if you do the calcul here, I got 20 3D X 4 shaders X 30 bitmaps = 2400 renders to do.

3dsmax 2012+ Renderware IO

I am after any script/plugin developer(s) who do not mind giving their free time to create a game development suit for ageing Renderware game engine.

More members I can get on board maybe the quicker this little project could be completed.

Sadly max script isn't my area of expertise. however I am very knowledgeable about the engine in question. I've had a look at other scripts that used to work on 3dsmax6+ (don't laugh) but I can not seem to get my head around it and core components to these scripts seems to be encrypted by another dev who has long since retired.

3DSMax to .3DB Export Script?

I don't know the extent or complexity of what I am asking for
but does this request rest in the realm of possibility for
most script writers or am I asking for something that is
overly demanding?
