You will probably find that the ui does not allow you access to this functionality. Lets face it, I wouldn't want scripts I download to suddenly apply themselves to my ui...it would drive me nuts! But that's just me.
well, i think your comment is valid, i wouldn't want other people's scripts dominating my ui either, but i'm working for a studio and i'd like everyone to have access to our macroScripts as quick as possible.
i've been snooping in max's default directories and found maxScript funtions that load the .cui/.ui files (holding the toolbar info) when max is started.
i was thinking there must be a way to hack these scripts to load toolbar info that doesn't live in the default max directories. i've been a bit cautious about messing w/ these scripts too much... i don't want to wreck my ui.
