Help with Point3 Script Controller

Hi guys, it's been a long time since I've don't any Max scripting, so I'm a little rusty.

I need to get some sub-object vertices to follow the position of another object. I've attached a script controller to my vertex and was able to get it to follow the object, but I can't remember how to get it to keep it's relative position. Right now it jumps to the NODE399 object. How do I keep the vertex in it's original position, but move with NODE399?

Or is there an easier way to do this without scripting, like a link or position constraint, but on sub-objects...?

thx for the help,
Barry

I feel sure you don't need a script controller doing that.
What about a skin modifier. With it you might be able to control subobject vertices by keeping object's relative position. Just define at last two bones (the parent object will be the first bone that should move the wanted (assigned) vertices. For the second one you can use a point helper (maybe with position constraint to the parent).
I am talking a bit blindly, if you share a draft it will be most clear.
