Need script for detach element of mesh skined and preserved the skinning
Hi
I have mesh complex skinned but i want detach a element of this mesh using "detach" but the mesh detached lose the skin modifier and not can use ( example detach an arm of a body for put it in another model), I want preserve the skinning for this mesh
How can detach a mesh preserving the skinning in 3ds max 2011?

use Clone
You can duplicate your model and delete the polygons under the modifier leaving the corresponding mesh on each model.
Have you tried using the Skin
Have you tried using the Skin Utility to export your skinning information to a mesh and then imnport that back to your detached objects? Not sure if it can help, but worth a try:
