hey guys i working on a project
and i need to take a bunch of objects that are inter penetrating each other
and seperate them , for render sakes and simulations , i get to files with allot allot of lets say leaves or stones and broken chunks and need to be able to seperate them without going into each one and adjust them.
is it posible to do with a script or any other way ?
i feel like im wasting allot of time so help would be very welcome

As far as I see no problem

As far as I see no problem in selection, and you want to prepare the objects for simulation, right?
Now I have in mind PFlow with Group operator. It's available in Max2010 and Creativ.Extensions for Max2009.

my recent MAXScripts RSS (archive here)

ill try what you guys said , thanks

its totally doable - but i

its totally doable - but i think you need to be more specific about what your doing (or maybe im not understanding)

If you have alot of different objects in one mesh, but they have different MaterialIDs, you could use that to seperate them. (DetachID script is on scriptspot) Other things to consider would be could you use polycount (soulburn script) could you use wireframe color (standard max "h" key and sort by WFC.) Those are just options off the top of my head...

Essentially - find a max property that all the objects share, and find a method to select them. if you give a standard property, maybe someone could recommend a process for you.

Well, is there some property

Well, is there some property that could be used by the script to identify the objects and separate them? Like the material or something like that?

ummmm , do they need to have

ummmm , do they need to have different materials to puul it off ? cant it just take all the selected object and check for penetration and the move them ?
