New Scripter - Create objects based on X,Y,Z list

Hi everyone, I do a lot of work that involves mass placement of an object in max 9 scenes. I was wondering if anyone knew of a script out there that can take a text file of coordinate information and names to create objects at the listed coordinates automatically.
If anyone has heard of such a script or could point me in the right direction to program one, I would be much obliged.
