Spline or Mesh objects

I'm looking for some ideas on spline or mesh objects that people would like to have for 3ds max? Feel free to suggest any controls you may wish to have as well.

I'm looking for some new objects to develop and I'd love to get some ideas on what people would find useful. Share you thoughts!

Thanks

John

Hi JokerMartini,

If there is one thing i miss in max, it is a Steel Beam "Addon" ;)
I Started scripting a little on various profile types one year ago, but i never had time to finish it due to time and maxscript knowledge.

Here is a great page to find various profile types: http://www.structural-drafting-net-expert.com/steel-beam.html

Great ideas Barigazy,
In my case I was thinking of entire object plugins, not just tool additions sets.

Hi John

Let start with spline "to do" list:
-- improvement of trim-extend operations
-- fuse 2 knots at 1st or 2nd knot (not in middle)
-- different types of cross section operation (similar to CrossSection modifier)
-- optimize spline knots (imported from CAD or Illustrator)
-- convert selection from "segment to spline" and vice versa (like E-poly)
-- interactive creation of line with position input (CAD "create line" command)
-- on creation process change a straight line to elipse (CAD "create line" option)
-- offset spline without creation of "closed spline" (CAD "offset" command)
-- undo last created knot
-------------------------------------->>> end of part 1 :)
I think it's good for the start.
E-Poly already have "Graphite Modeling Toolset", E-Mesh is not my "top" object type, but SplineShape obviously needs a lot of improvement.
I hope you agree with that.
Cheers!
