Change Path from Old network hard drive to New

Hey guys -

I am looking for solution to Re-Path assets in Asset Tracking. I have new network hard drive and it takes me forever to change path.

From "\\\\Old Path\images\project\image.jpg"
Old Path = "192.168.1.2"
To "\\\\New Path\images\project\image.jpg"
New Path = "192.168.1.10"

It would be great if the script can look for any maps, ies, vray proxy, etc. with "Old Path" name and change to "New Path" and leave the rest of the path the same.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

You can find this ability

You can find this ability (and more) in the FilePathFinder (Light and PRO) and in the Project Manager.

Change beginning of path or drive letter

There is also new way with Bitmap Tracking/Resizing to remove 1st path leaf (drive) and set new. Check the animation below.

It works with all kind of assets.

Here is a link: http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/bitmap-tracking-resizing

Any Joy???

H,

I just happened upon your request whilst looking for the same solution.

We have just moved our textures and models to a different mapped drive and a script would save a lot of time and hassle.
By any chance have you managed to find a resolution?

Cheers

Batch change/rename paths

Hey,
Yes, please check Bitmap Resizing/Tracking - option "Set path..." and then "Rename"
http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/bitmap-tracking-resizing

You can remove beginning of path by number of "\" up to the file name and than add new prefix/beginning

Right now works with bitmaps only but soon will be ready for all kind of assets.

I know this is bit late but it can be helpful for future :)

Have you tried this script ?

Have you tried Collin Senner's "Relink Bitmaps" script ?
It takes bitmaps, ies, proxies and more...

Yeah

Yeah - his script is what i am using currently.

I still need to figure this out because i am working on creating work flow script for my team and want to automatically do this when we execute the script in the background when rollout is open. I am hoping someone can help!

Cheers
