NEED HELP in creating wakes and foam textures in an animation movie
This one is copied from another forum and i couldn't find a solution so far..
and i posted a related topic earlier here ,but asking about fire not water :D
"We are working on the first egyptian/arabic animated 2d feature length movie since about...mmm...-no laughing- 12 yrs.
Any way, now i'm responsible for the 3d big scenes in the movie-rendered in 2d at the end-..i'm having some problems here.
as you can see in the video file in the link below - this is still in progress : not the final pallete, animation, simulation,no characters placed yet,no compositing done yet -, but yet the most annoying thing - i guess - is the wakes and foam generated from the ship.
the work flow for the ocean shortly is:
1- basic waves in real flow
2- exported to 3d studio max and added a few modifiers:
= FFD to adapt the camera focal length - to avoid simulating very big waves in RealFlow-
= noise modifer to add secondary waves to the ocean
= UVW to create this foam texture - or what was meant to be a foam texture created from combustion -
= Displace modifier with the same parameters of the uvw modifier to create this pumb in the wave.
3- Rendered using final toon
This is briefly what was done to create this water.
I need help on how to create a good looking wakes and foam using the same method of rendering, and if there is any foam texture source that any one knows, please refer to it.
I appreciate your time reading this..
