In this Tutorial, for total beginners, we will learn how to install
a macroscript into 3DS Max.

Lesson 4 - 3DS Max - Total Beginners - Explaining Editable Poly - Making A Simple Drawer

1 vote

In this 5th video, we'll learn about Editable Poly object, its sub-objects elements, explaining some of their main tools, what they do and how they work. After, we create our first 3D model, which is a simple drawer with shelves and 4 legs. During the video, you will hear many additional, and useful tips that will make your workflow easier.

Lesson 12 - 3DS Max - Total Beginners - 2D Shapes - Part 6 - Cross Section

0 votes

In this video, we will learn about this nice feature inside the 2D shapes called Cross Section, where you can create a cross-section between existing splines sub-object levels. Also, we will see how we can create a surface from these cross-sections by adding a Surface modifier and explaining some of its parameters

3DS Max - Tip - Capture / Restore Objects Transform

0 votes

In this 3DS Max tutorial, we will see how we save and restore the position and rotation of the objects, so that, later on, we can restore them back to their original state. Also, we will take a look at specific scenarios where this technique might have undesirable results.

Lesson 18 - 3DS Max - Total Beginners - Lathe Modifier 2

0 votes

This is another example of using the Lathe modifier in the Total Beginners series, you can watch the first part for a deeper explanation.
Here we will create a bottle of water with a geometry representing a label(without a texture).
In addition to what we've learned in the first video, at minute 7:05, we will see how we can add an Edit Poly modifier, and subdivide polygons to create the label part.

3DS Max - Attribute Holder modifier

0 votes

In this tutorial, we will learn about using the Attribute Holder modifier. This modifier serves as a container, and we will use it to instance some of the parameters that belong to some of the modifiers in the stack so that we can change them in one place. This is useful because it can save us a lot of time. With many modifiers in the stack, it's time-consuming to go down and enter the modifier to change the values. Sometimes we might even forget in which modifier the parameter that we are looking for.
In addition, we will learn about the Animate option in the Edit Poly modifier.

3DS Max - Create A Custom Construction Plane

0 votes

In this video, we will see how we can create our own construction plane,
close to the UCS thing in AutoCad. We will learn also how we can place a construction plane on top of a specific face so that this face's orientation will be the custom construction plane's orientation. In the end, will we learn how we can use this custom grid as a handy modeling aid in complex geometry. Also in this last section, we will deal with the problem when you try to use the Auto Grid on a Polygon that shares the same smoothing group with an adjacent face.

3DS Max - Tip - Propagate Materials To Instances

1 vote

In this tutorial, we will see how to apply the same material to a collection of instances without the need to select them all in the scene.

3DS Max - Quick Tip - Exclude Objects From Zoom Extents

In this tutorial, we will learn how to exclude objects from the Zoom Extents operation

3DS Max [BUG] - V Ray Sun Created Randomly In The Scene

0 votes

In this video, I will recreate the issue/bug in 3DS Max, that will cause a V-Ray Sun to appear in your scene randomly, explain why this is happening, and then explain how to deal with it.

Note: At minute 3:00 I wanted to say: "...And this file has a V-Ray Sky..." not V-Ray Sun, and just after it at minute 3:06 I wanted to say: "...there is a V-Ray Sun in the scene..." anyway, it's fixed in the video caption if you turn it On.
