Quick Parent Link

Quick Parent Link is a script to allow you to quickly pick a chain of obects to set them into a parent/child hierarchy. It works a little more efficiently than the native Select and Link tool (which requires you to click child, drag to parent, let go, then select that parent as a child again and drag to its parent, etc).

(macroScript)

Description:
Creates a point dummy, and parents it to the reference object's vertex/center,
using controller expressions.

This is useful to parent other objects to a specific part of a deforming
mesh, or an object whose transforms have been 'baked' (e.g. point cache).

I have found it specially useful, in FX work, for particle/fluid emitters.

Notes:
- Only the 'center' method can be used with splines.
- When using 'vertex' method, the dummy's rotation will align to the

Link Constraint Floater

This is one of my favorites. A tiny floater for dealing with an object that has a Link Constraint as its transforms. Instead of being stuck to the little motion panel window this will free you from that.

Makes it a lot easier for animating with the Link Constraint. Watch the video to see how easy it works.

Compares two sets of objects, linking objects in "child" set to the nearest object in the "parent" set... pretty simple!

1. Select set to be children and run script or press refresh children.
2. Select set to be parents and press refresh parents
3. Press "Parent"

*4. You can also press "select objs w/o children" to select any objects left in the parent list with no children (can happen if it's far enough away that it's not the closest to any object in the child set.)

Based on Neil Blevins' object planter. This script allows you to select two sets of objects and plant / parent them to another set of geometry that is "below" it. Ideal use: you have a bunch of props and need to plant/parent them onto multiple ground pieces... you can select all the trees, select all the ground pieces, and it'll automatically parent to the object below it.

Notes:
*Sometimes it will parent to wrong objects... i find that a reset xform on the parent objects help.
