Rapid Edit
Automaticly selects the first editpoly/editspline modifier in the list. If no editpoly/editspline modifier can be found it asks you if you want to add one. Also works with groups, if activated it will either open the instanced editpoly/editspline modifier of the group or add one automaticly.
This script is useful if you got a large number of objects in the scene that you need to modify. It allows me to quickly edit objects, without losing time clicking around in the modifierstack. If you bind the script to a hotkey then just press the key once to open the first editpoly/editspline modifier in the list, press the hotkey again to close the modifierstack.
Installation:
- drag and drop the script into the viewport
- you find the macro at customize - customize user interface - category "# Scripts"
- hint: I find it most useful to bind it to a hotkey, for example "X"

Love this but 2 suggestions
1, I want to second the suggestion that it should remember which edit mode it was previously.
2. Could you possibly add a "cycle" function so that if you have more than one edit poly modifier then repeat hitting the key would go through each edit poly modifier
Will definitely get lots of use by me anyway. thanx !
editable poly suggestion
used to your script so much and sometimes run it on editable poly which cause error but here i have suggestion - in that case make this script on/off sub-object mode.
hope it is possible
thank you
PS - one more issue - it always return Vertex sub-object level - would be great if it will remember previously selected sub-object
thank you!
very very useful tool! thank you!
Thank you! It works! I wonder
