Collapse Material ID's Based on Texture Name or sub material name?

Hello Guys, i feel really bad requesting anything but this is something I've needed help with for a while.

My issue is:
I Import 700 Unique objects into a scene all sharing around 25 textures.
When i attach them all together i get around 350+ Material ID's in a Multi/Sub object.

Is there a way to condense the amount of Material ID's Back to 25?

NOTE:
All my Multi/sub object names would match the texture names if that helps.

Thanks so much for your help :)
Let me know if i can help in any way.
