Bullet Time

1 vote

Bullet Time is a script used to simulate a camera moving around an object - with little or no passage of time. An example would be seeing a vase shatter. In the midst of it shattering - the scene either freezes or slows down considerably. The camera then rotates around the vase - stops - and the vase continues to shatter. The effect of this can be seen in commercials as well as 'THE MATRIX'.

Copy Render to Clipboard

Simply copies your last render to the clipboard. I've separated it into two macroscripts - one 'CopyRenderToClipboard' copies the RGB data to the clipboard and the other one 'CopyRenderAlphaToClipboard' copies the Alpha data to the clipboard.

G.I. Toggle

A simple script for mental ray, which will give you a toggle for Global Illumination that you can have in a toolbar, quad or floater.

I created this as I found myself often turning GI on and off to test various assets in a scene in isolation.

DepthMatte

Saves an image that represents the current environment ranges in the scene by changing all objects in the scene to a black matte color and rendering the scene with white fog. Good for doing postprocess fog and postprocess depth of field.

Render Elements

"Render Elements grabs the state of many areas of max and toggles them back to their saved state.
Render Elements grabs:

  • Camera to render From
  • Render Settings
  • Layers (on or off & alt material)
  • Atmospherics (on or off)
  • Effects (on or off)
  • Current Renderer settings (scanline or brazil)
  • Lights (on - mult - cast shadows)
  • Brazil Material Converter

    2 votes

Converts Brazil Advanced Materials <--> Standard Materials. The new version should also handle multi-sub materials - blends - shellacs - double-sideds - top-bottoms - etc. The mass converts of multiple objects doesn't work quite right on larger scenes yet - so save your file if you are going to use them - but converting single materials/material trees in the material editor still seems stable.
